The 1937 Gibson L-50 is a classic example of pre-war American archtop guitar craftsmanship, built during what many consider the golden era of Gibson.

Introduced in the early 1930s, the L-50 sat in Gibson’s lineup as a more affordable archtop compared to higher-end models like the L-5, but it still carried many of the same design principles. By 1937, the model had matured into a well-balanced instrument suited for jazz, swing, and early rhythm styles.

At nearly 90 years old this guitar has seen a wonderful amount of play. Typical wear and tear with a lovely patina this lovely sounding L50 is a joy to play and hear. No major repairs or refinishing just some replacement machine heads.

Comes with a decent hard shell case and the original scratch plate as photographed.
