A fascinating and increasingly collectible example of Gibson’s Les Paul Signature Gold Top, dating from 1973, the first year of production and representing one of approximately 1,400 instruments produced during the Norlin era.

The Les Paul Signature is a particularly unusual Gibson, combining the construction concept of an ES-335 with its distinctive asymmetrical Les Paul-style body. The body features a Maple laminate construction with a Maple centre block, while the three-piece Maple neck incorporates the characteristic volute and a bound Indian Rosewood fingerboard.

This model is equipped with Gibson’s low-impedance pickups and features two output jacks—one mounted on the top and one on the side. Controls comprise the standard three-way pickup selector, master volume and tone controls, together with a phase switch and a three-position rotary output-level selector marked 50, 200 and 500.

Overall in good condition, some slight surface marks, some minor buckle rash, no breaks or repairs, original working electrics. Comes with the original Case.
