Here’s a rare opportunity to own one of Gibson’s most distinctive vintage archtops — the diminutive ES-140T 3/4.

Manufactured in the USA in 1967, the ES-140 was Gibson’s compact, 3/4-size fully hollow electric archtop. Although it may look like a miniature ES-175, this is no toy guitar. It is a genuine, professional-quality Gibson, built with the same attention to detail and musicality as its larger siblings.

This example features the classic single P-90 pickup, a beautifully comfortable round-profile neck, and Gibson’s understated appointments. The smaller body gives the ES-140 its own distinctive character — bright, articulate, punchy and wonderfully immediate.

And the tone? Absolutely enormous for its size. This little Gibson has a surprisingly powerful, full-bodied voice with plenty of the growl and authority you want from a vintage P-90. In fact, it sounds so good that you could easily forget you’re playing a 3/4-size instrument.

The ES-140 was produced through the 1950s and 1960s and has developed a real following among collectors and players who appreciate unusual vintage Gibsons.
